India, March 30 -- Filmmaker Aditya Dhar's Dhurandhar The Revenge continues its strong box-office run, crossing Rs.1,250 crore globally. Viral videos from Lyari in Karachi, Pakistan, which inspired parts of the film, show residents making cheeky calls for a share of its earnings.
Shared by a YouTube channel, locals are seen reacting to the film's success, with some suggesting that Rs.500 crore, or even up to 70-80% of the profits, should be directed towards the area's development. One resident says, "Film Lyari pe bani hai. bahut kamaayi hai. Lyari tarakki kare aur yahan sadake bann jaayen." Another adds, "Agar Rs.1,000 crore mil rahe hain toh Rs.500 crore Lyari waalon ko de naa. Aadhi kamayi se roads ban sakti hain."
