India, Jan. 30 -- On Wednesday, actor and producer Margot Robbie channelled vintage glamour at the world premiere of her latest film at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles, California, pairing a Schiaparelli couture gown with a legendary piece of history: the Taj Mahal diamond necklace. Valued at approximately $8 million (Rs.73.4 crore), the heart-shaped gem was famously gifted to late actor Elizabeth Taylor by late actor Richard Burton for her 40th birthday, serving as a poetic nod to Old Hollywood's era of grand romance.
Set in a gold and ruby Cartier chain, the diamond features a Parsi inscription that translates to "Love is Everlasting".
It is said that its lineage traces back to the 17th-century Mughal Empire, having been owned by Empress Nur Jahan before passing to Shah Jahan, the emperor renowned for building the Taj Mahal. HTC...
