Woman pushedoff train, robbed
Haldwani, Nov. 17 -- A 48-year-old woman travelling from Nainital to Moradabad was allegedly pushed off a moving train and robbed by a man who had accompanied her on the pretext of helping her purchase a plot, police said on Sunday, adding that a case will be registered in the matter once a complaint is received.
The woman lay injured along the railway tracks for nearly an entire day, police said.
According to police, Farzana, a resident of Dalpatpur Mudapande area in Uttar Pradesh's Moradabad, had travelled to Nainital on November 11 with Nanhe, a relative from a neighbouring village.
She was carrying Rs.3 lakh in cash and gold jewellery after Nanhe reportedly assured her that he would assist her in buying land, police said. After spending two days in Nainital, the two boarded a train from Kathgodam on November 14. During the journey, Nanhe allegedly pushed Farzana off the moving train and fled with the money, valuables, police said.
Pantnagar police station in-charge Nandan Singh Rawat said, "We admitted the woman to hospital and informed her sons, who work in Bengaluru. We have not yet received a written complaint. Once it is submitted, a case will be registered and investigation will begin."htc...
