Mohali, Feb. 21 -- A woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident near the Landran traffic lights in Sector 114, Mohali, on Wednesday morning. The deceased was identified as Manju, a resident of Landran. Police have registered a case and are trying to identify and trace the motorcycle rider involved. According to police, the accident occurred around 9.15 am when Raghav, 21, was riding a scooter (PB34B7885) with his mother, Manju, as pillion. As they approached the Landran lights, a motorcycle carrying two persons allegedly emerged from a side street and rammed into their scooter. The impact threw Manju onto the road, causing severe head injuries. Passersby rushed to help and shifted her to a private hospital in Sohana, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
