Warring reviews preps for Rahul's Feb 28 Barnala rally
BARNALA, Feb. 24 -- Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Warring on Monday took stock of the preparations for the upcoming 'Mazdoor Bachao Kisan Bachao' rally by Rahul Gandhi on February 28 at the grain market in Barnala. Earlier, who also held a meeting with local leaders in Sangrur.
Rahul had last visited Barnala and addressed a 'Navi Soch Nava Punjab' rally just before the 2022 Punjab assembly elections.
Warring criticised the central government, claiming that the rights of the poor have been snatched away through the Viksit Bharat - Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin), which has replaced the MGNREGA.
"And that the recent trade deal with the US regarding agricultural exports will destroy Punjab's farmers and labourers, Warring said, adding that the upcoming rally will be a fresh start for a movement to raise the voice from Punjab.
Warring also took a jibe at the 'Meri Rasoi' scheme and said that the ruling party's choice of slogans is good, but in reality, everyone is suffering in the state, including the families of police officers.
