TMC announces 7 more candidates for Assam polls, to contest 23 seats
Silchar, March 23 -- The Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Sunday announced seven new names in its second list of candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Assam.
In total, the TMC has announced candidates for 23 constituencies across lower, central and upper Assam as well as Barak Valley.
The party also said the candidature of Dulu Ahmed from the Chamaria assembly constituency, announced in its first list, has been withdrawn following an amendment issued on March 22.
As per the second list, the party has named Sherman Ali Ahmed from Mandia, Rojy Ahmed (Funu Das) fromHajo-Sualkuchi (SC), Avijit Mazumdar from Guwahati Central, Inus Kumar Kandapan from Chabua-Lahowal, and Paresh Borah from Mariani.
Parimal Ranjan Roy and Aziz Ahmed Khan (Ranu Khan) have been named by the party from Karimganj North and Karimganj South, respectively.
Meanwhile, the Raijor Dal has announced its final list of candidates, cancelling its nominees from three constituencies after entering into an opposition alliance in the state and agreeing to a seat-sharing arrangement as part of it....
