Ferozepur, Jan. 21 -- Police have arrested three accused and recovered over 7 kg of heroin in two separate cases in Ferozepur on Tuesday. Senior superintendent of police (SSP), Ferozepur, Bhupinder Singh Sidhu said that a police team conducted a naka (checkpoint) operation based on specific intelligence inputs. During the operation, Satvir Singh and Jaswant Singh were apprehended and 4.479 kg of heroin was recovered from their possession. A case under Sections 21, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act was registered. In another operation a suspect was intercepted during naka checking. The accused, identified as Pritam Singh, was found in possession of 2.537 kg of heroin and a bike. A separate case under the NDPS Act was registered and the accused was arrested. During further investigation, based on the disclosure statements of the arrested accused, police recovered an additional 1.37 kg of heroin, taking the total seizure to 7.16 kg.
