Karnal, Jan. 24 -- Almost a month after paddy sacks were allegedly stolen from a rice mill in Karnal, the police on Friday said that they have arrested three accused for the theft. The accused were identified as Ram Phool, Sudhanshu Sharma and Akshay Kumar, all residents of Amritpur Kala village under the limits of Madhuban police station. They were presented before a court that sent them into two days of remand. Madhuban SHO inspector Gaurav Punia Sanjeev Kumar had filed a complaint that some sacks of paddy were stolen from his rice mill on the night of December 30/31, 2025. Based on the complaint, a case was registered at Madhuban Police Station under FIR No. 513/2025, Sections 305, 3(5). During preliminary questioning, the accused revealed that in addition to this theft, they, along with their other accomplices, had also stolen sacks of paddy from Bhagwati Rice Mill and Samridhiya Rice Mill located in the Madhuban police station area. Punia said that during the remand period, recoveries will be made and the accused will be interrogated thoroughly to uncover other theft incidents and the involvement of other accomplices in the case....
