Suicide abetment charges slapped on three
Rohtak, March 3 -- Investigators have ruled out the murder angle in connection with the death of a 16-year-old girl on February 25, a day after she was found unconscious at a park in Charkhi Dadri. She had consumed some poisonous substance, police said.
The girl died during treatment at Rohtak's PGIMS. Acting on her father's complaint, police had registered a murder and rape case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
DSP Subhash Chandra said three persons - Sahil, Pankaj alias Bholu of Rohtak and Naveen of Charkhi Dadri - were arrested.
"They came in contact with the girl through Instagram and she came to Charkhi Dadri to meet them. She died after consuming some substance. We have revoked murder section and added suicide abetment charges in the FIR.
The confirmation pertaining to rape will be confirmed in the post-mortem report, which we are yet to receive," he added. HTC...
