Chandigarh, May 4 -- A man stabbed his wife, leaving her critically injured in Sector 38 late Sunday evening. Police officials said they received information about the attack from the Government Multi Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, where the victim was taken for treatment. The injured has been identified as Suman (40).Her husband Manoj fled after the attack. Officials said the accused resorted to violence after the victim refused to accede to his demand for money. According to the police, doctors declared her unfit for recording statement. Based on the statement of accused's brother Krishan, an eye-witness, an FIR was registered under Sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 118(1) (hurt by dangerous weapons/means) and 351(2) (assault or criminal force) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
