St Joseph's hosts Capacity Building Workshop
Chandigarh, Feb. 6 -- In keeping with the transformative vision of NEP 2020, St Joseph's Senior Secondary School, Sector 44 D, Chandigarh, organised a Capacity Building Workshop on the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023, designed to enable educators to engage deeply with the philosophy, intent, and lived realities of the renewed curriculum framework.
The workshop was led by two eminent and highly respected resource persons-Pushpalata Jha, principal and founder principal of G World School, Mohali, a seasoned CBSE resource person and academic visionary, and Sagrika Bakshi, an accomplished educationist, senior CBSE resource person, and institutional leader with over two decades of experience in curriculum leadership and teacher development.
Drawing upon their rich professional journeys, the resource persons skilfully translated policy into practice through reflective dialogue, experiential learning, and intellectually stimulating engagements.
At the heart of the workshop was an in-depth exploration of the aims of education as articulated in NCF-SE 2023, emphasising holistic growth, competency-based learning, ethical consciousness, and learner well-being.
Teachers were encouraged to perceive curriculum not as a static document, but as a living, breathing process that unfolds meaningfully within classrooms.
A series of well-crafted interactive activities and a comprehensive gap analysis invited participants to critically examine existing school practices, classroom transactions, annual curriculum plans, and pedagogical approaches. Educators engaged in thoughtful reflection to identify alignments, challenges, and opportunities for purposeful transformation.
A notable highlight of the workshop was the application of the 4R framework-Review, Reflect, Respond, and Rate-which offered teachers a structured and introspective lens to evaluate their instructional practices and curriculum planning. This reflective model empowered participants to move from awareness to action, ensuring that curriculum intent finds authentic expression in daily teaching-learning experiences.
The workshop unfolded in an atmosphere of intellectual curiosity, professional dialogue, and shared reflection, leaving teachers with renewed clarity, confidence, and commitment to thoughtful implementation of curricular reforms.
The revered principal, Monica Chawla, shared that such capacity building initiatives are essential in cultivating reflective practitioners who can thoughtfully interpret and implement curriculum reforms.
She expressed that the National Curriculum Framework serves as a guiding compass for aligning classroom practices with national educational aspirations, reaffirming the school's steadfast commitment to holistic education and continuous professional growth.
The workshop emerged as a meaningful milestone in St Joseph's Senior Secondary School's ongoing endeavour to nurture reflective educators and sustain academic excellence....
