Chandigarh, Jan. 20 -- The Punjab government on Monday transferred 2007-batch IAS officer Anindita Mitra as the Punjab chief electoral officer (CEO) , four days after the Election Commission of India cleared her appointment. Mitra was holding the charge of secretary, higher education, school education and languages, in addition to managing director (MD), Punjab Infrastructure Development Board (PIDB). Replacing her, the state government has appointed 2009-batch IAS officer Sonali Giri as the secretary of higher education, school education and languages, in addition to already held charges of MD Punsup; secretary-cum-director, civil aviation; and secretary revenue and rehabilitation. Girish Dayalan, a 2011-batch IAS officer, who already holds the charges of registrar, cooperative societies, and managing director, Punjab State Cooperative Bank limited, has been appointed as MD, PIDB.
