India, Feb. 28 -- The Scindia School Old Boys' Association (SOBA), official alumni body of The Scindia School, commemorates 66 years of organised alumni leadership while continuing to uphold the 128-year legacy of one of India's most distinguished residential schools. Founded in 1897 by HH Maharaja Madhavrao Scindia I as the Sardars' School and later developed into a premier public boarding institution by HH Maharaja Jiwajirao Scindia, The Scindia School stands majestically atop the historic Gwalior Fort. For over a century, the school has combined academic excellence with character-building, leadership training, and deeply rooted Indian values. Under the stewardship of the board led by Jyotiraditya Scindia, the institution continues to prepare students to become responsible and globally aware citizens. Today, SOBA represents a global alumni network of more than 7,000 registered members, with 33 chapters across India and international chapters in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, Singapore, and Dubai. The association serves as a bridge between generations of Scindians and between the school and the wider world. Speaking on the association's vision, Mitul Dikshit, president, SOBA, stated: "Our mission extends beyond nostalgia and networking. We are committed to building enduring institutional support systems that benefit both the school and society. Our alumni are leaders across sectors, and through collective engagement, we aim to translate that leadership into structured impact." Over the years, SOBA has actively supported scholarships for economically underprivileged yet meritorious students, teacher welfare initiatives, and emergency medical assistance through its 'SOBA Care' framework. The association has also undertaken blood donation drives, eye check-up camps, wheelchair donations at railway stations, and advocacy initiatives promoting organ donation at the national level. Looking ahead, SOBA is exploring expanded areas of engagement, including: The Scindia School's illustrious alumni include distinguished diplomats, entrepreneurs, artists, public servants, defence officers, and thought leaders who continue to make notable contributions nationally and internationally. As it completes 66 years of organised alumni service, SOBA reaffirms its commitment to preserving the ethos of service before self while enabling innovation, inclusion, and institutional excellence. Through sustained engagement and responsible stewardship, the association continues to strengthen The Scindia School's historic legacy while contributing meaningfully to the broader educational and social landscape of the nation....
