Mohali, March 30 -- An alert security guard helped foil a snatching attempt near Gopal Sweets in Kharar on Saturday night. The incident took place around 8.15 pm near the backyard of a salon, where the complainant, Nisha, was waiting for a cab after closing her establishment. According to police, two youths arrived on a motorcycle and brazenly tried to snatch her purse. As the woman resisted, she fell on the road and sustained minor injuries. Hearing her cries for help, security guard Kuldeep rushed her aid and managed to overpower one of the accused, identified as Ravi Verma. The second accused, Tarsem Singh, fled the scene on the motorcycle. A police team reached the spot shortly after receiving information and took Verma into custody. Police said efforts were on to trace the second accused. Both were booked under Section 304 (snatching) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita....
