SC panel seeks report, UGC sets up fact-finding committee
Shimla/Dharamsala, Jan. 3 -- The Himachal Pradesh Scheduled Castes Commission on Friday sought a report into the death of a 19-year-old girl student of a college in Dharamshala, with the family alleging ragging by three students and sexual harassment by a professor. Police have already booked the four accused. The University Grants Commission also took cognisance of the matter and formed a fact-finding committee.
The father of the deceased, a second-year student, alleged that the accused had "harassed and levelled casteist remarks" at his daughter, even as college authorities maintained that no complaint related to ragging or sexual harassment was filed prior to her death. P6...
