Ludhiana, Feb. 23 -- Four persons were arrested for the murder of a wanted criminal, Pardeep Kumar alias Billa, 20, who was shot dead in broad daylight in a park in Ludhiana's Jamalpur on January 21, police said on Sunday. Officials said the accused were also involved in criminal activities so they didn't want Billa to establish supremacy in the area. A resident of Ram Nagar in Jamalpur, Billa was wanted in connection with an attempt-to-murder case (October 2025) in which he had allegedly opened fire and injured a man in the same locality. Billa was found dead in a park with a bullet wound to the temple of his forehead on January 21. Sub-inspector Dalvir Singh, SHO of Jamalpur police station, said the arrested persons were Sahil Rajput, Ajay Goswami, Fauji and Hemant Misra. Raids are being conducted to arrest two others, he said. "Billa had about seven FIRs registered against him. The accused are also from the same area and have a criminal background. They did not want Billa to dominate the locality and killed him to maintain their control," he added. The arrested persons are on police remand....
