Chandigarh, May 5 -- Pleasant weather continued to delight city residents for the third straight day after another 7.4 mm rain on the intervening night between Saturday and Sunday. As per officials at the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a fresh Western Disturbance (WD), along with another system that has formed in the North East, was affecting the region, bringing in rain, lightning and winds. Due to this, chances of rain will continue on Monday and Tuesday as well. IMD has also forecast thunderstorms, with wind speeds going up to 60 km per hour. An orange alert for thunderstorm has been issued for Monday. Orange is the second highest of the four-coloured warning system used by IMD, asking people to be prepared. There is only a yellow alert from Tuesday onwards as the system is likely to be stronger on Monday. The prevailing weather conditions, meanwhile, will continue to keep the temperatures from rising. On Sunday as well, the maximum temperature changed slightly from Saturday's 35degC to 36degC, still 1.5 degree below normal. The minimum temperature also fell from 22.7degC on Saturday to 20.7degC on Sunday, 2.6 degrees below normal. Over the next three days, the maximum temperature will hover between 35degC and 36degC, and the minimum temperature between 21degC and 22degC....
