Chandigarh, April 13 -- The extended pleasant spell that residents enjoyed, thanks to the recurring Western Disturbances and the resultant rains, are over as clear skies are expected to take the city's maximum temperatures to 37degC by Friday, Met officials said. The minimum may climb to nearly 22degC, India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials said. On Sunday, Chandigarh recorded a maximum temperature of 31.9degC, which was 2.2 degrees above normal and slightly lower than Saturday's 32degC. The minimum temperature stood at 14.8degC, a significant departure of 4.4 degrees below normal and dropping by a degree compared to the previous day. The broader region is already witnessing an upward trend in temperatures, signalling the onset of summer. Rohtak recorded a high of 35.3degC, while Bathinda reached 33.5degC....
