Chandigarh, April 23 -- The Chandigarh municipal corporation (MC) on Wednesday announced a 20% rebate for residential property owners and 10% for commercial owners provided they pay up their property taxes for May 31. The MC allows residents to pay their taxes both through the online as well as offline modes. Those preferring the online mode can visit the e-Sampark portal. Those wishing to make the payments in person any of the e-Sampark centres in the city. Payments made through cheques and demand draftswill only be accepted up toMay 26. MC commissioner Amit Kumar said early payment of property tax not only helps residents avail maximum rebate but also strengthens the MC's financial resources.
