Chandigarh, March 30 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday accused the Opposition of running a deliberate campaign to mislead people on the Rs.10 lakh health insurance scheme, using isolated incidents from non-empanelled hospitals to falsely projectfailure. The AAP said that over 1.72 lakh patients had already received treatment worth Rs.292 crore, asserting that the attempt to distort facts reflected either a lack of basic understanding of how such schemes function or a calculated effort to create confusion among beneficiaries and weaken a major public welfare initiative. Responding to claims made by Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa, who had shared a video of a patient from Amritsar, health minister Dr Balbir Singh said that the hospital shown in the video, Shoor Hospital, was not empanelled under the health scheme.
