Chandigarh, Feb. 28 -- The Punjab government has operationalised free high-end cochlear implant surgeries across its tertiary care network. Health minister Dr Balbir Singh said free cochlear implant surgeries were now available at all four government medical colleges in the state. These include Government Medical College and Hospital, Amritsar; Government Medical College and Hospital, Patiala; Government Medical College and Hospital, Faridkot; and Dr BR Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences, Mohali, according to an official release. The minister said the government will bear the entire cost of the procedure, including the implant device, surgery and hospitalisation.
