Chandigarh, Feb. 14 -- While the day temperatures have been on a constant rise over the past few days, nights have also started getting warmer, with the minimum temperature crossing the 10degC mark for the first time this month. It stood at 10.9degC on Friday, 1.5 degrees above normal, compared to 9.1degC a night before. Last month, the highest that the minimum temperature had gone was 10.9degC which was recorded on January 23. The maximum, meanwhile, rose from 24.6degC on Thursday to 25.2degC on Friday, 3.1 degrees above normal. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), residents can expect the mercury to climb in the coming days as well. A weak Western Disturbance (WD) is also likely to affect the city next week though it is unlikely to bring any rain.
