India, Feb. 6 -- American musician Nick Jonas, 33, and actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas, 43, welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie (MM) via surrogacy in January 2022. In the past, they have both spoken about MM being a premature baby, with her due date around April. Now, Nick has made an emotional revelation about her harrowing birth. "We got to the hospital, and (MM) came out. She was 1 pound 11 ounces, and purple. These angels at the NICU resuscitated her in that moment, and got her taken care of really quickly and intubated and everything else," he shared on Jay Shetty's podcast On Purpose. Nick said little MM "fought every day for three and a half months" and received six blood transfusions. "It was Covid time; my wife and I basically did 12-hour shifts at the hospital. I can still smell it; there are always visceral things. It was both comforting and frightening to be there every day and see other families going through a similar situation," Nick recalled, adding, "I feel like she knows how she entered the world and what that first chapter of her life was like."
