mohali, Feb. 7 -- The Mohali municipal corporation has launched a citizen-centric "Area Stewardship" initiative to improve accountability and delivery of civic services. Under the programme, specific sectors, villages and road stretches have been assigned to designated officers as area custodians. Each officer will oversee sanitation, waste management, parks, street lighting, water supply, sewerage and road repairs. Regular inspections and time-bound rectification of deficiencies have been mandated. A dedicated WhatsApp group will monitor field reports and action taken. Weekly reviews will assess compliance.
