Ludhiana, Jan. 24 -- An MBA student was allegedly shot dead by one of his friends following a spat on Friday evening near Talwara village, the police said. The reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained, police added. The victim has been identified as Rajvir Singh Khaira, 25, of Jagjit Nagar in Tharike village. He was the only son of his parents and was pursuing an MBA. The PAU police lodged an FIR against his friend Jugraj Singh of Pamal village. Inspector Vijay Kumar, SHO at PAU police station, said that according to the victim's family members, the accused shot their son from a close distance following a spat. "The bullet pierced through his stomach. He was rushed to the hospital, where he died while undergoing treatment," the SHO said, adding that the reason behind the murder will be ascertained after the arrest of the accused.
