Chandigarh, Feb. 5 -- A businessman from Manimajra was allegedly duped of Rs.19.34 lakh after purchasing Amazon Pay gift cards whose codes had already been redeemed, police said. The complainant, identified as Bulbul, told the police that he had got the vouchers for use at his shop but later discovered that the voucher codes were invalid as they had been used earlier. Following his complaint, police registered a case at the cyber crime police station. Police said they have received multiple similar complaints since November and thus suspect that the total amount defrauded could behigher. A case under Sections 318(4) (cheating), 319(2) (cheating by personation), 336(3) (forgery), 338 (forgery of valuable security, will etc), 340(2) (using as genuine a forged document) and 61(2) (criminal conspiracy) of the Bharatiya NyayaSanhita (BNS) has been registered at the cyber crime police station against unidentified persons....
