Meerut, Feb. 21 -- A 25-year-old man allegedly strangled his younger sister to death in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district in what police suspect is an incident of hate crime linked to her interfaith relationship, a senior police officer familiar with the matter said on Friday. The deceased's father, however, justified the act, saying it was correct to kill the woman who insulted her family. The incident took place on Thursday in Matawali Patti village under the Asmoli police station limits.
