Rohtak, Feb. 12 -- A special POCSO court in Fatehabad on Wednesday awarded 20-year rigorous imprisonment (RI) to a 29-year-old man for allegedly raping a minor girl in August 2023. Fatehabad additional district session judge-cum special judge, fast track court, Amit Garg convicted Gaurav Soni, alias Bhushan, a resident of Fatehabad under Sections 354-A(1)(i), 363, 372(2)(n) and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Section 6 and 8 of the POCSO Act and Section 3(2)(v) of the SC/ST Act. The judge also slapped a fine of Rs.1.75 lakh on the accused. District attorney Devender Mittal said that the case date backs to August 16, 2023, when a Class 12 girl of a private school lodge a complaint against her known, Gaurav, of raping her twice two days ago and threatening her of facing dire consequences, if she revealed the incident to anyone. "The accused also threatened the girl of making the video viral of the incident if she revealed the incident to anyone. On the basis of facts and evidence, the allegations were proved and the accused was pronounced guilty for 20 RI," he added....
