Chandigarh, Feb. 7 -- Mayor Saurabh Joshi has urged the residents to make use of the "Swachh Sawari" initiative, a contribution on wheels programme under which people can donate old but usable items, such as clothes, footwear, toys, books and other household essentials, directly from their doorsteps. The collected material is transported sector-wise to the municipal corporation's RRR (Reduce, Reuse & Recycle) Store, where it is refurbished and redistributed among the underprivileged through One Rupee Stores, making each item available at just Rs.1. He said this initiative truly embodies the spirit of "Aapke Ghar Se Unke Ghar Tak", ensuring that unused household items are put to meaningful use while supporting needy sections of society. He further said that "Swachh Sawari" also plays a vital role in spreading awareness about scientific waste management and the importance of segregation at source. "With active public participation and continued efforts, the MC is striving to achieve the top rank in the forthcoming Swachhata Survekshan," he said, adding that "Swachh Sawari" can be contacted at 9041998099 and 9815903050.HTC...
