Illegal colonies over 7 acres razed
Panchkula, Feb. 7 -- The district town planner (DTP), Panchkula, on Friday carried out a major enforcement drive against unauthorised colonies in the urban areas of the district.
During the drive, led by DTP Babita Gupta, an illegal colony spread over four acres in Palasra village and another illegal colony covering around three acres in Bataur village were demolished using a JCB machine.
The demolition was carried out in the presence of duty magistrate Neelanshu Dubey, SDE (Urban), UHBVN Panchkula, Ashok Kumar, and other officials.
Gupta said that prior permission from the director, town and country planning department, Haryana, is mandatory before undertaking any construction activity or developing a residential colony.
She warned that strict legal action would be initiated against individuals involved in unauthorised construction or illegal colonisation.
Gupta also appealed to the public not to purchase plots or carry out construction in unauthorised colonies and advised residents to ensure that the required change of land use (CLU) or licence approvalsare obtained from the department before investing in any property....
