Patiala, Jan. 26 -- A 30-year-old head constable was murdered by unidentified assailants in Nabha town of Patiala district on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Amandeep Singh. His brother Navdeep Singh was also injured in the attack. According to initial information, Amandeep was attacked by unidentified persons while he was on his way home. His brother, who was accompanying him, sustained injuries and was rushed to a hospital. The motive behind the attack remains unclear. Doctors at Nabha civil hospital said Amandeep was brought dead. The attending doctor stated that the head constable had sustained multiple wounds on his chest caused by a sharp-edged weapon. It has been learnt that Amandeep was posted at the Patiala Civil Lines police station. "It appears to be a case of road rage that escalated into a fatal attack. The exact cause will be established after a detailed investigation. Efforts are being made to identify and trace the attackers," an official, wishing not to be named, said, adding that the process was on to register a case....
