Guv to lead anti-drug march in Pathankot
AMRITSAR, April 16 -- Punjab governor Gulab Chand Kataria will undertake a three-day visit to Pathankot starting Thursday, during which he will lead an anti-drug awareness march and interact with various sections of society.
This will be the governor's second visit to border districts this year. Earlier, he had led a "padyatra" (foot march) against drug abuse from Tarn Taran as part of the state's ongoing campaign to curb the menace.
In preparation for the visit, the district administration has stepped up arrangements. Deputy commissioner Pallavi on Wednesday reviewed the preparations at multiple locations, accompanied by SDM Arshdeep Singh Lubana and officials from different departments.
As part of the programme, an anti-drug awareness march will be organised from Sandeepni School to AV College, aiming to motivate youth to stay away from drugs and support the fight against substance abuse.htc...
