Grey's Anatomy star Eric Dane dies after ALS battle
India, Feb. 21 -- A
ctor Eric Dane, best known for hit shows Grey's Anatomy and Euphoria, has died at 53, just 10 months after publicly revealing his amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) diagnosis.
His family confirmed the news to People magazine. "With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon," the statement said.
Dane, who famously played Dr Mark Sloan aka McSteamy on Grey's Anatomy, spent his final days surrounded by family.
"He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters. Throughout his journey with ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research," the statement added.
