Mohali, Jan. 30 -- The 77th Republic day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at Gian Jyoti Global School, Phase 2. Tiny tots from Primary wing came dressed colourfully to represent the diversity of the nation. They wore traditional dresses of different state, shared information and danced to the tones of folk dances of their respective provinces. The programme began with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Chairman, Gian Jyoti Group of Institutions, JS Bedi, followed by the National Anthem. Students presented dance 'Tere Mitti Main Mil Javaan'. Students also presented a role play of freedom fighters of India. All presentations were appreciated with thunderous applause. Speaking on this occasion, principal director Ranjit Kaur said that this emancipation has came after the struggle and sacrifices of the people of two centuries. Nevertheless, we are unable to understand importance of freedom but efforts should be made to make it better place to live in by maintaining peace and harmony as that is the best tribute which can be paid to the martyrs. She further added that we should use natural resources according to necessity and show our care towards nature by planting the saplings....
