Ferozepur, Feb. 14 -- A 37-year-old farmer shot at his wife and four-year-old son before turning his licensed .32-bore revolver on himself at Bajidpur village, around 6 km from Ferozepur, on Friday afternoon, police said. All three sustained critical injuries - the couple suffering gunshot wounds to their heads and the child sustaining an injury to the liver - and were initially rushed to a private hospital in Ferozepur. Owing to their critical condition, they were later referred to a hospital in Ludhiana. DSP (Rural) Ferozepur Karan Sharma, who reached the hospital soon after receiving information, said the exact circumstances leading to the incident had yet to be ascertained. "We are investigating whether the man first shot his wife, aged around 35, and child before attempting suicide or whether there is any other angle to the case," he said. "No suicide note was recovered," said DSP Sharma. According to neighbours, the farmer owned agricultural land and also cultivated leased land. In a similar incident in the district last month, on January 8, a 40-year-old salon owner allegedly shot dead his wife and two minor daughters before shooting himself in Harman Nagar....
