Cong to launch fellowship for young lawyers, says Singhvi
New Delhi, Feb. 23 -- The Congress will launch a fellowship programme for young lawyers, offering them hands-on work with MPs, while also establishing a rapid response team to address legal and Election Commission issues at various levels, senior leader Abhishek Singhvi announced on Sunday.
Singhvi, chairman of the party's law, human rights and RTI department, and Congress treasurer Ajay Maken unveiled the initiatives aimed at integrating young lawyers into the party mainstream, building a legal network to support grassroots leaders and safeguard the RTI Act, the party said.
Singhvi said that the fellowships would be offered to 10 young lawyers for a period of three months, during which they would work with party parliamentarians.
"Ten young lawyers will be selected to assist MPs. The aim is to allow the next generation of Congress leaders to understand the role of the opposition in Parliament," said Singhvi.htc...
