India, March 6 -- A city-based businessman has allegedly received extortion threats of Rs.20 crore from a personclaiming to be linked to the gang of Lawrence Bishnoi,following which the police have registered a case. According to police, the case was registered at the Sector 36 police station on March 4 under Sections 308(2)(punishment for extortion) and 351(2)(criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on the complaint of Lohit Bansal, a resident of Sector 36D. In his complaint, Bansal alleged that a man identifying himself as Harry Boxer, purportedly a member of the Bishnoi gang, made WhatsApp calls to him on January 1 and February 14 this year. During the calls, the accused allegedly demanded Rs.20 crore and threatened him with dire consequences if the amount was not paid. Police said a case has been registered and an investigation is underway. No arrests have been made so far....
