India, March 6 -- On Wednesday, the makers of Yash-starrer Toxic surprised fans by announcing that the film's release has been postponed from March 19 to June 4. In an official statement, the team cited the ongoing crisis in the Middle East, saying the situation has affected the film's planned global release across key international markets. With the new date, Toxic avoids a major box-office clash with Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2. However, it will now clash with Varun Dhawan starrer Hai Jawani To Ishq Hona Hai (HJTIHH), which had announced its release date as June 4 a few months ago. Bollywood Hungama quoted a source saying it is "customary to inform filmmakers who have already locked a release date if another film plans to arrive the same day. However, Varun Dhawan, director David Dhawan and producer Ramesh Taurani reportedly learnt that Toxic would release the same week only after actor Yash announced it on social media". However, a spokesperson from Toxic told us, "As a matter of professional protocol, Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions, along with Anil Thadani, personally reached out to Ramesh Taurani (producer of HJTIHH) to inform him about the revised date. The communication was made well in advance to ensure transparency and maintain the spirit of respect. Only after this conversation did the producers of Toxic make the official announcement." There was no response from HJTIHH director David Dhawan and actor Varun Dhawan till the time of going to press....
