Chandigarh, July 9 -- After serving the Andhra Pradesh senior team as a fielding coach last season successfully, Munish Bali is set to return to his roots in a new role. Bali, 44, is all set to take up the reigns of Punjab senior men's team as coach for this season. Bali, former U-19 Punjab cricketer, will be replacing Rajdeep Kalsi as the chief coach of Punjab senior team.

Under Kalsi and Ratra, Punjab failed to qualify in the Ranji Trophy quarterfinals.

Previously, former India cricketer Ajay Ratra had become the Punjab senior men's team as coach.

In the last three seasons, Bali is the third coach hired for the post. He assisted Andhra Pradesh's chief coach Monty Desai.
