ASC rout Artillery; GB Legends edge out Haryana
Chandigarh, April 3 -- : Chandigarh Army Service Corps (ASC) delivered a dominant performance to thrash Artillery by 12-5 on day five of the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Polo Tournament at the Chandigarh Polo Club on Thursday.
Despite starting with a two-goal handicap, Artillery were quickly pegged back as Col Yatinder set the tone for ASC, with Sepoy Ravinder Singh adding two goals.
ASC seized control in the second chakkar, with Mukesh Gujar and Ravinder further extending the lead to 6-2.
Artillery responded through Irfan Khan and a penalty by Gunner Uday, but ASC maintained their grip to seal a comfortable win.
In a thrilling second match, GB Legends Chandigarh edged Haryana by 10-9 in a sudden death finish. Overcoming a five-goal deficit, Dilpreet Singh Sidhu and Lt Col Vishal Chauhan led the fightback. Naveen Singh's late equaliser forced extra time, before he struck the decisive golden goal to secure victory.
The tournament will witness its final on Saturday....
