Chandigarh, Feb. 2 -- Light rain measuring 0.9 mm, accompanied by thunderstorms late Saturday night and early Sunday morning, brought down thecity's maximum temperature to 21.7degC on Sunday, about 1degC lower than the previousday. The minimum temperature, however, rose sharply by 3.3degC, from 7.7degC on Saturday to 11degC on Sunday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The IMD has issued a yellow alert for the next three days, warning of dense fog at a few places in the city. While the weather is expected to remain largely clear from Tuesday, fog may persist in isolated areas.
