India, Oct. 9 -- Singer-actor Rajvir Jawanda's death on Wednesday has sent ripples of shock through the Punjabi entertainment industry. The 35-year-old had been in critical condition for 11 days after sustaining severe head and spinal injuries in a road accident in Himachal Pradesh. Rajvir's last rites will reportedly take place today in his home town Jargaon. According to his doctors, the singer had been put on life support as soon as he was admitted to a Mohali hospital. They added that Rajvir had shown minimal brain activity and "no significant improvement" despite intensive care. On September 27, Rajvir's motorcycle had reportedly collided with stray cattle that appeared 'suddenly'. Several contemporaries expressed their shock and heartbreak over the singer's untimely passing on social media (see left).
