Mouni Roy alleges harassment by male guests at Haryana event
India, Jan. 25 -- Actor Mouni Roy spoke out on Saturday about a disturbing incident at a recent event in Karnal, Haryana, where she says she faced inappropriate behaviour from several male guests,
Taking to her Insta Stories, the 40-year-old wrote, "I'm disgusted with the behaviour of the guests, especially two uncles who are old enough to be grandparents. As the event started and I walked towards the stage, they put their hands on my waist to click pictures."
According to Mouni, the situation escalated once she reached the stage: "Two uncles stood right in front, making lewd remarks, showing me lewd hand gestures, and name-calling. I politely gestured to them not to do it, after which they started throwing roses at me. No family or organisers moved them from up front."
Expressing concern for other women in the industry, the actor added, "If someone like me has to go through this, I can only imagine what new girls starting to work and do shows must be going through. I'm humiliated, traumatised, and want the authorities to take action."
In another Story, she highlighted additional details about the incident, writing, "Have to also mention that the stage was at a height and these uncles were making videos at a low angle... The guts. The entitlement of being men. We are their guests, and they harass us like this." HTC...
