India, Oct. 9 -- After receiving the Dadasaheb Phalke Award last month, Mohanlal has yet another accolade to his name. The actor, an honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army, received a commendation from Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Tuesday. Sharing pictures on his official X account, the 65-year-old called it "a moment of immense of pride and gratitude." The actor's commendation honours his contributions to society and longstanding association with the Indian Armed Forces. Mohanlal wore his Army uniform to receive the letter in the presence of other high-ranking officials. The actor was awarded his honorary title in 2009. According to a statement from the Additional Directorate General of Public Information, IHQ of MoD (Army): "Lieutenant Colonel (Honorary) Mohanlal has been a steadfast supporter of the Armed Forces, actively contributing to causes that honour soldiers, inspire youth to join the Services and promote awareness of the Army's role in humanitarian operations."
