India, Feb. 21 -- T he ongoing dispute over alleged similarities between ADOR's South Korean girl group NewJeans and BELIFT LAB's group ILLIT has now drawn a response from BTS member V, and it's his Insta Story that has become the latest development in the case. Taking to Instagram Stories, V addressed the controversy after a private KakaoTalk conversation between him and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin was submitted as evidence in court. Expressing discomfort over the matter, he wrote on Instagram on Friday, "This is part of a private, everyday conversation that I shared with empathy, as they were my acquaintance. I have no intention of taking sides. However, I find it very upsetting that the conversation in question was submitted as evidence without my consent." In the messages cited, V had written, "There's always talk of plagiarism, and it's not once not been mentioned Huh... that's what. I took a look as well and thought, 'Oh, this is kinda similar'." The issue stems from former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin's 2024 accusation that BELIFT LAB plagiarised NewJeans' creative concept while launching ILLIT.
