India, Jan. 17 -- Korean boy band BTS officially announced the title of their fifth studio album, ARIRANG, set for release on March 20, through their record label BigHit Music's social media channels on Thursday morning. Pre-orders for the album, which will feature a total of 14 tracks, opened on January 16 at 11am KST (7:30am IST).
Regarded as an unofficial national anthem, Arirang is a traditional Korean folk song believed to be over 600 years old, with around 3,600 variations spanning 60 different versions. Research suggests that in ancient Korean, "ari" meant "beautiful" and "rang" referred to "the groom", often interpreted as "my beloved one".
The announcement follows BTS's reveal of their 2026-2027 world tour on Tuesday, which will kick off in South Korea in April 2026 and continue through March 2027.
