India, Aug. 14 -- T he debate over fixed working hours in the film industry has been a hot topic lately. But for Shikha Talsania, it's less of a debate and more of a reality check - this is simply how the business works. "We've always functioned like this," says the 34-year-old actor, recently seen in the show Mistry. "I've worked with men and women who are young parents or new parents, and shoot timings are adjusted for them. Sometimes, you're racing against the clock because you only have a location for a few hours, or you're chasing the perfect light before it fades. You adapt to what the day demands. It's not really up for debate, it's just something people are talking about more now. We've always been flexible," she adds. Shikha adds that the process is slowly becoming more structured. "It's definitely getting more streamlined. But there are still days when you're adjusting to what different people, whether it's the director, actors, or technical crew, need. We're creating a piece of art, but it's also a business. So, it's always a fine balance." Of course, flexibility comes with its own challenges. The nature of the profession doesn't just mean unpredictable hours, it also means an unpredictable workflow. Has she made her peace with it? "Some days, you just take it on the chin. It's the nature of the beast. And yes, there are times when you wonder, 'Why is this happening to me?' when you're between projects. I'm only human, I have my days," she admits with a smile....
