'We have a lot of respect for each other professionally'
India, Feb. 18 -- Musician AR Rahman has attained global recognition with his work, and his son, AR Ameen, became a part of the music industry following his footsteps. Recently, the 23-year-old singer released the song Bheegi Bheegi in collaboration with his father. He reflects on the experience, saying, "It was a nice feeling to have him with me on the song. We have a lot of respect for each other professionally, too."
Coming into the same field as his father, especially with his legacy, was challenging, but Ameen is unperturbed. "It comes with the territory. The whole package is that there is love but also hate. I'm trying to pave my own path. I'm not trying to be like anyone and I hope my originality stays. What I have learnt from his journey is that don't judge a book by its cover," he says.
In today's time, when musicians get recognition for their work and not just the actors featuring in their songs, Ameen believes in everyone getting their due. "Everyone puts a lot of time and effort into every role. So respecting them, including the musicians is important and I want to convey that message through a platform where I can bring up more people and give recognition to all of them," he ends....
