Sri Lanka, May 14 -- A shipment of imported salt will arrive in the country within the next two weeks to address the ongoing shortage, says Lanka Salt Limited.Chairman D. Nandanathilaka told Hiru News that salt harvesting in Hambantota, Elephant Pass, and Puttalam has been severely disrupted due to adverse weather conditions since March 15, resulting in a significant supply shortfall.To meet local demand, Lanka Salt Limited is importing 10,000 metric tons of salt, while the National Salt Limited will bring in an additional 20,000 metric tons.
