India, May 23 -- WhatsApp is testing a new feature that lets you add contacts by scanning their QR codes, reported WABetaInfo. Currently available only in the beta version on both iOS and Android, this feature can be found in the app's settings menu.

WhatsApp's settings menu has the option of displaying your own QR code and also an option to scan other's. A QR code can also be revoked if shared with someone who you don't want to have your number.

This feature is not a massive one, but it does take away the tedious process of having to manually add a contact. Right now, to message someone on WhatsApp, you will have to add that person to the phone's address book first. It's an extra step and it's annoying when you just want to message som...
